In Thailand, only 0.8% of the population is evangelical Christian.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

One strong value in Thai culture is called “kreng jai.”

To be Thai is to be Buddhist.

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Pastors are often treated with the same kind of respect people give to monks.

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”

The church and missionaries can use words and concepts that are foreign to the Thai people.

Colossians 4:5-6 “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

Faith in Buddhism is being shaken due to news about scandals, drugs and women in temples.
