Overcoming Anger

The Bible teaches us about the differences between God’s righteous anger and our own selfish anger.
Mark 3:1-6; Matthew 21:12-14; (James 1:20)

Thankfully, God is patient and slow to anger with us.
Acts 7:54-60; Acts 8:3; Acts 9:1-2

We get angry when something we value is threatened or violated.
Ephesians 1:4-6; Isaiah 43:5-7

The wonderful news of the gospel is that we can be spared this righteous anger through faith in Christ.
Romans 5:8; Ephesians 4:1-3; Ephesians 4:26

A follower of Christ is not commanded to cease from anger, but to be righteous in our stewardship of anger.
James 4:1-3

Our anger seeks to convince us that we are the most important person in that moment.
Ephesians 4:26-27

We ought to live our lives in the same manner, forgiving others, and free from unrighteous anger.
