2. God is with us in our pain, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalms 34:18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Luke 8:26-39 – A demon-possessed man is healed.
Isaiah 61:3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
5. We must come to God with a humble heart.
1 Peter 5:6-7 …humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
6. We must submit to God’s Word and His will for our lives.
7. Holding onto past hurts or mistakes will hinder spiritual growth and prevent moving forward.
8. Recognizing that everyone makes mistakes is key, and that God understands our human limitations.
Psalms 103:14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
9. Trusting in God’s guidance and power to overcome past struggles.
Psalms 37:23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
Romans 8:37-39 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
