The Purpose of Tears

Tears are a normal part of life.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4

1 When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad.
4 Bring back our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the desert.
5 Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Ps. 126:1-6

Life can take us captive.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33

During these times, the enemy wants to take your soul captive.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Jn. 10:10

Two Shouts of Praise when you come out the other side:

1. The Lord has done great things for them – Ps. 126:2

So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, my great army which I sent among you. 26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame. 27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. Joel 2:25-27

2. The Lord has done great things for us – Ps. 126:3

Come and see the works of God; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men. Ps. 66:5

In the midst of your tears, you are sowing seeds of abundant life.

He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Ps. 126:6

Fruitfulness is the purpose of your tears.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9

In your difficult times, sow seeds of life in others.

There is a purpose for all that you have gone through.
