The first church service included prayer, worship, a message and baptisms.

The Text:

And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. 32 And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Joel 2:28-29, 32

For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. 11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  Ps. 16:10-11

The outline of the first sermon was:

• Jesus was the Christ.
• He was crucified and buried.
• He rose from the dead.
• He ascended to Heaven.
• His Spirit is now available to everyone.
• As a result, we will experience the pleasures of new life and joy.

The people responded with a simple question:

“What must we do?” (Acts 2:37)

Peter responded (Acts 2:38):

• Repent.
• Be baptized in Jesus’ Name.
• Receive the Holy Spirit.
