Start Praising God
Praising God is more important and more relevant than you realize
But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out. Luke 19:40
Let everything has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Ps.150:6
Two qualifications to Start Praising
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24
In Spirit – sincerely from the heart
When you come to worship me, who asked you to parade through my courts with all your ceremony? Stop bringing me your meaningless gifts … I want no more of your pious meetings … When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will not look. Though you offer many prayers, I will not listen … Is. 1:12,13,15
In Truth – in reality
Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful … Let them sing for joy … Let the praises of God be in their mouths, Ps. 149:1,5-6
Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heaven! Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness! Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn; praise him with the lyre and harp! Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord! Ps.150
Praising God with others draws His presence and power
For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” Matthew 18:20
You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered]. Ps. 22:3 (Ampc)
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Praising together in unity commands God’s blessing
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity … for there the Lord commanded the blessing— life forevermore. Ps.133
Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square … all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law … and when he opened it, all the people stood up. And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. Then all the people answered, “Amen, Amen!” while lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord … And there was very great gladness. Neh. 8:1,3,5,6,17
