Speak Up #1

The Prime Directive from the Lord is to Speak Up.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8

But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words…” Acts 2:14 ESV

He told them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to every creature.” Mk. 16:15 TLV

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? Rom. 14:14 NLT

Our Words give Life to people.

…for Your word has given me life. Ps. 119:50

Jesus said,

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

Death and life are in the power of the tongue… Proverbs 18:21

We are like salt sprinkled throughout the world.

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” Mt. 5:13

We are Christ’s ambassadors in the world – we speak for the Kingdom of God.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 2 Cor. 5:20

Satan’s main strategy is to quiet our voice.

So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” 21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go… 23 And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said… 29 “Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:18-21,23-24,29-31

Every time you Speak Up, it makes a difference.

…my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Is. 55:11 NIV

Speak Words of salvation.

Will everyone respond positively? NO.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.” However, some men joined him and believed… Acts 17:32,34

Speak Words that enlighten people to God’s ways.

And He spoke a parable to them: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?” Luke 6:39

The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. Ps. 119:130
