Single Focus – Getting Past Your Past

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.

                                                                                              Philippians 3:12-13

· Forget Your Negative Past

… forgetting those things which are behind … Phil. 1:13

Shake off the dust. Rise up, O Jerusalem, who has been taken into prison. Loose yourself from the chains around your neck, O chained people of Zion who are in prison. Is.52:2 NLV

· Life is Going to Shovel Dirt on You

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”  Jn. 16:33 NLT

· Shake Off the Dirt

Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love isn’t selfish or quick tempered. It doesn’t keep a record of wrongs that others do.

                                                                                           1 Cor. 5:4-5 CEV

1. Rejection

2. Criticism

3. Hurtful Words

4. Disrespected

5. Guilt

6. Mistakes

7. Shame

8. Failure

· Use the Dirt to Step Up

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.  Romans 8:28

· Wash Your Feet

If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.   John 13:14–17

· Dust is the Stuff of Life and Death

God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being.” Gen. 2:7

· Don’t Only Survive the Fire but Survive the Smell of Smoke

The officers, prefects, governors, and king’s advisors moved closer to see what had happened to these men. They, too, could hardly believe their eyes. The fire had done nothing to harm these men. Their hair was not singed. Their clothes were not scorched. They didn’t have the faintest smell of smoke on them.

                                                                                            Dan.3:27 VOICE

· Leave the Need to Change and Judgment to God

And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Matt. 10:14

· Who Really Needs to Change?

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

                                                                                                         Rom. 12:2

· Don’t React – Act

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven  Mt. 5:43-45
