Hope is an Anchor.  (Heb. 6:19)

Perfect Storms Create Perfect Hope

"He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us."  2 Corinthians 1:8-10

When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” Mark 4:40

6 Truths that will keep us anchored in 2023

1. Joy and gratitude will shift your mindset

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

2. The community will encourage you

That there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.  1 Cor 12:25,27

3. You are not alone; God’s spirit is always with you

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt 28:12

4. God is always in control

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer 29:11

5. Suffering has an expiration date

Yes, you will suffer for a short time. But after that, God will make everything right. He will make you strong. He will support you and keep you from falling. He is the God who gives all grace. He chose you to share in his glory in Christ. That glory will continue forever. All power is his forever. Amen.  1 Peter 5:10-11

6. God works all things together for good

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

Why am I discouraged?  Why is my heart so sad?  I will put my hope in God!  I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!   Psalm 42:11

Don’t put your hope in your circumstances; put your hope in God.
