All Things New – A New Routine

He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new … Rev. 21:5

Do you See the New Thing God is Doing?

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? …   Isaiah 43:19. (NIVUK)

A Wilderness Stands Between You and your New Thing

… I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.  Isaiah 43:19 (NIVUK)

God Provides a Path to Traverse the Wilderness

I will lead blind Israel down a new path, guiding them along an unfamiliar way. I will brighten the darkness before them and smooth out the road ahead of them. Yes, I will indeed do these things; I will not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16 (NLT)

The voice of one crying in the wilderness:

Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; the glory of the Lord shall be revealed …  Is. 40:3-5

Jesus is the Way and Shows Us the Way to Every Good Thing

… God … who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ  Eph.1:3

“Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  Jn. 14:5-6

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,”

whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.  Is. 30:21

Every New Thing Requires New Routines

Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you … you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do.  Ex. 18:19-20

Definition: A Routine is a customary or regular course of action.

Your general routines groove your life

When your life falls into a set routine; it limits your experiences and interactions.  You see only what you have seen in the past. Don’t be imprisoned by your immediate enviroment. Take a new path.

A new routine is required to embrace a new thing

And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.” Mark 2:22

Release old routines to establish new routines
