Living in Eden Restored

A Christian lives in an Eden restored.

As you live this new life, we pray that you will be strengthened from God’s boundless resources, so that you will find yourselves able to pass through any experience and endure it with courage. You will even be able to thank God in the midst of pain and distress because you are privileged to share the lot of those who are living in the light. For we must never forget that he rescued us from the power of darkness, and re-established us in the kingdom of his beloved Son, that is, in the kingdom of light. Col. 1:11-14. (Phillips)

The pleasure and delight of Eden stem from the Joy of the Lord.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Galatians 5:22-23

Understand the difference between joy and happiness.

Natural Happiness is an emotion generated by your perception of happenings.
Joy is an inner sense of well-being generated by the Holy Spirit.

To experience the pleasure in Eden… you must turn your joy into the emotion of happiness.

Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls— 18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:17-18

Many Christians have joy in their understanding but sorrow in their emotions.

…Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-10

Keep your mind focused on God.

You become like what predominately occupies your mind.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. Phil. 4:6-9

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world… Phil. 2:13-15

Experience a peace that can’t be explained.

22 Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake. 23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven… Luke 6:22-23

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2-3

So the ransomed of the Lord shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 51:11

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. Psalm 89:15

Let your mouth speak the joyful sound.

The joyful sound is voicing praise, appreciation, gratitude and optimistic expectations.

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11

You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence. Acts 2:28
