Let it Be Known – Pastor Ken Miles – April 8, 2018

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  Mark 16:15

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”  Acts 1:8

• Good or bad … we are the witnesses
• Witnesses are to tell what they know

Let It Be Known

• Three Hebrew Youth

… our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” Dan. 3:17-18

They did not think it enough not to bow to the image, but thought themselves obliged to stand up against it. –  Matthew Henry

• Daniel in Babylon

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Dan. 6:10

 What are the golden images being set up in our society todqy?

 We are not to be issue fighters but rather Kingdom advancers.

• Elijah on Mount Carmel against the Prophets of Baal

… Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word.  1 Kings 18:36

• Peter and John Make Known the Name of Jesus  

If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole …  Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:9-10,12

… “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all …  But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.” So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”    Acts 4:16-20

Paul Makes Known the Source of Forgiveness  

Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified … Acts 13:38-39

• Live with Conviction

  Commitment

  Courage

  Confidence

• Mix In But Don’t Blend In
