1st Great Awakening – 1730 -1750

2nd Great Awakening – 1790–1840

Continual Waves of this Spiritual Awakening

1900-1940  – Pentecostal Movement

1968–1980 – Jesus Revolution/Charismatic Renewal

The 3rd Great Awakening Begins with a Personal Awakening

Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”  Ephesians 5:14

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. Rom. 13:11

The Church has Fallen Asleep

“At the time my coming draws near, heaven’s kingdom realm can be compared to ten maidens who took their oil lamps and went outside to meet the bridegroom …

5 When the bridegroom didn’t come when they expected, they all grew drowsy and fell asleep. 6 Then suddenly, in the middle of the night, they were awakened by the shout ‘Get up! The bridegroom is here! Come out and have an encounter with him!’ 7 So all the girls got up and trimmed their lamps. 8 But the foolish ones were running out of oil, so they said to the five wise ones, ‘Share your oil with us, because our lamps are going out!’

9 “‘We can’t,’ they replied. ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. You’ll have to go and buy some for yourselves!’

10 “While the five girls were out buying oil, the bridegroom appeared

13 “That is the reason you should always stay awake and be alert, because you don’t know the day or hour when the Bridegroom will appear.”  Mt. 25 1,5-10,13

Do you See What Man Sees or What God Sees?

Have You Received your Personal Wake-up Call?

And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:17

Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Mt. 26:40-41

Are you a Worrier or a Warrior?

David was “woke” in his battle with Goliath

While Christ is Physically Absent we are Left on Earth with a Mission

35 “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; 36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Luke 12:35-37
