Forgiveness is not only something we receive – it’s something we extend.
I am beloved, loved and forgiven by my Father in heaven. Therefore, I can love God, myself and others properly.
Key Text: Matthew 22:36-40; Colossians 3:12-14
Forgiving ourselves is receiving grace.
Shame says, “You’re not worthy.” Grace says, “You’re free.” (1 John 1:9; Romans 5:8)
Wrestling with God is okay – but bitterness isn’t.
Forgiving God doesn’t mean He did wrong – it means releasing our demand for an explanation. (Habakkuk 1:2; Job 42:2)
Forgiving others is the fruit of forgiveness.
As we’ve been forgiven, we must release others. (Colossians 3:12-14; Matthew 6:14-15)
