Our Ministry was started in 2011 and now involves 14 Stephen Ministers and2 Stephen Leaders. This ministry touches our congregation through cards, grief packages, hospital visitation as well as the normal Stephen Ministry activities.

Stephen Ministers have studied for 50 hours so that they may show Christ’s love to those who are experiencing life’s stressful experiences.
The death of a loved one, illness, surgery, terminal illness, divorce, separation, and happier times such as parenting a new baby, empty nest, retirement? Are you about to leave home and head for college or university, or a new position distant from your family, friends and church? There are many situations that you will be able to walk through by yourself, combined with prayer. However, a Stephen Minister is willing to help you travel with listening, prayer and support and help you carry your burden.

Stephen Ministers are available to walk along side you. They will visit and pray with you once a week, and perhaps be in contact with you by phone during the week. They have been taught the importance of confidentiality. Stephen Ministers are assigned ‘woman to woman’ and ‘man to man’. They are not counsellors. They are loving listeners.

Even in the Garden of Gethsemane, Christ asked His disciples to wait with Him. Although they could not change what would happen to Him, He did ask that they come alongside Him as He waited.

Your inquiries can be made confidentially at the church office or through Pastor Ken Miles.
